There are many Halloween pet photo contests for those who want to enter a digital photograph in a pet picture contest for a chance to win prizes or money.

Pet lovers know there are few things as cute as a dog or cat dressed in pet costumes. At Halloween, there are many opportunities to enter digital pictures in pet picture contests to win prizes or money. Where can pet lovers find Halloween pet photo contests? Read on to find details for five pet photography contests.

Enter a Halloween Pet Costume Contest

This is the fourth year Good Housekeeping magazine has held an online pet photo contest. To enter to win the Good Housekeeping Fourth Annual Halloween Pet Costume Contest, submit a digital photo of any pet in a costume prior to Oct. 31, 2010. All submissions will be reviewed by a panel and will be judged based on creativity, attention to detail, best representation of the character and cuteness.

The grand prize is a five-night stay at the Vero Beach Hotel & Spa in Florida, plus a $1,000 gift card from Petco. Winners will be notified around Nov. 30. Entrants must have a valid email address and reside in the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec). Last year’s top three winners wore Michael Jackson, Phantom of the Opera and king costumes.

Win a Cameo in a Commercial with Pet Photo Contest

Some pet photography contests have elaborate prizes, and PetSmart’s Pet Photo Contest “Scare Your Way Into a PetSmart Commercial” has a unique opportunity for the winning pet to appear in a PetSmart commercial. Entrants have to submit a digital photo of any pet in costume prior to Oct. 27. The winner is determined by the highest number of votes on Facebook and announced on Nov. 1.

The grand prize is a cameo role for the pictured pet in an upcoming PetSmart commercial. In addition, there are weekly prizes for the photo with the most votes and a random daily prize drawing. To enter, participants must “Like” the PetSmart page on Facebook and upload a digital picture before Oct. 27; voting continues until Oct. 31. Entrants must be residents of the United States or Canada (excluding Hawaii and Quebec), and 18 years old. Multiple submissions are permitted but photos must not include any people; human body parts must be cropped from the photo to qualify.

Frequent Pet Picture Contests

The Martha Stewart website frequently has pet picture contests based on a theme. To enter the Martha Stewart Halloween Pet photo contest, email a digital photo of a Halloween-themed pet picture. Deadline for submissions is Oct. 8. The winner will judged based on originality, relevance to contest theme and technical quality. The grand prize is coupons for twelve free bags of Purina ONE dog or cat food. Entrants must have a valid email address, be 18 years of age and reside in the United States.

Two Chances to Win Pet Photo Contest

Pet lovers who want more than one way to win may want to take a chance in the Bow-Meow-Ween Pet Photo Contest at Kaboose.com. To enter, email a photo of a pet in costume and a description of up to 350 words before Nov. 1. One grand prize winner will be selected by a panel of judges who will score each photo based on creativity and appeal to users. The grand prize winner receives a Pet Trailer plus kit and a $150 gift certificate from Solvit™ Products.

A voter’s choice winner will be determined by votes from registered users on the website. The voter’s choice winner will receive a cat or dog KONG pet toy gift basket. Entrants must be residents of the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec). Both winners will be announced around Nov. 24.

Halloween Dog Costume Contest

Dog owners who have a photo of their pooch in a Halloween costume can enter the Fifth Annual PupLife.com Dog Halloween Photo Contest. Entry photos should be sent via email, and include the dog’s name and short biography that includes the dog’s personality and the inspiration for the costume. All entries must be received to PupLife by Nov. 1. The first place winner will receive a $100.00 gift certificate for use at PupLife.com. This contest is open to U.S. residents 18 and older.

Pet lovers who enjoy dressing up their cats, dogs and other pets in costumes for Halloween might want to take a chance at winning a prize in a pet photo contest. Digital photos can be judged by panels or the winner can be selected by the number of votes on a website. Even contests that don’t have large prizes can be fun to enter.
